circa 1886, with blued round 6 1/2in. barrel, raised sighting rib signed 'SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD MASS USA' and with patent dates, the inscription ending in 'REISSUE JULY 25 1871', pinned crescent fore-sight, special order standing adjustable blade rear-sight to the barrel-latch, fluted cylinder, break-open frame with automatic ejection, short ejector housing, chequered walnut grips and colour-hardened trigger-guard bow, the whole retaining much original finish throughout
